New BSN Clean Series

Australia is set to receive yet another new supplement line from the red US protein giant BSN. Seemingly hot on the heels of their recent DNA Series, at first glance, it’s hard to see exactly how the ‘Clean Series’ differs from the DNA Series. One could be forgiven for thinking that the ‘Clean’ title would mean free of things like artificial sweeteners and flavours, but on closer inspection, it’s evident that this is not the case. Instead, as BSN depict on their label, the Clean Series equates to “free of FD&C dyes, fillers, gluten and other non-desirable ingredients” – whatever that means! The other factor the Clean Series has going for it is all products are certified free of banned substances; having been subject to testing by the third party independent body Informed-Choice.

As far as products go, the line up is very basic with a blended whey, creatine, BCAA, pre-workout and fat burner making up the Australian line-up of supplements. But with a distinct lack of innovation and clear way to differentiate the product line, it’s hard to see this series eclipsing the lack luster success of the DNA Series.
